Rejuvenating a mature front garden – Herne Hill

My client wanted her front garden to look good enough for her party guests next week...

For various reasons the owner has not touched the front or back garden for a couple of years. With a little leaf clearing, shrub pruning and training, plus earth scraping, I revealed a round lawn (in need of attention) surrounded by paving, and plenty of pretty Hellebores. I will reseed the lawn when the soil gets a bit warmer, and probably plant a few more flowering perennials that can tolerate the shade of the two plane trees outside the gate.
